Carina's Ranch debuts

Carina Homes will host a grand opening for its Lamplight Square at Coronado Ranch from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday.

Entertainment and refreshments will be available for model home visitors.

Visitors may tour the southwestern valley neighborhood's 4,500-square-foot community center, which includes a fitness center, kitchen, and lounge area with a big screen television. Other amenities include a patio area; pool; spa; and a private park with a basketball court, playground and walking paths.

"With today's busy lifestyles, people want the finest recreation amenities available like a pool and spa, but they don't want to spend their valuable free time maintaining them," general manager Rick McCarty said. "We make it easy by offering everything they want in one convenient location, and they can leave all of the maintenance to us."

McCarty said the builder plans to hire a full-time activities director to coordinate events such as movies in the park, campouts and family activities.

"We feel that the value of this facility far exceeds the cost. The cornerstone of the Lamplight concept is to build active communities in which neighbors are encouraged to get to know and interact with one another, and there's no better way to achieve this than through an active community center," McCarty said.

The gated development will be comprised by 293 homes. Two-story designs will measure from 1,510 to 1,900 square feet and feature as many as four bedrooms.

Tree-lined streets and old-fashioned lamp lights will complete the neighborhood.

Prices start from the $170,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, go south to Shelborne Avenue and go east to Jones Boulevard.
