Rolladens' multiple benefits touted
The multiple benefits of Rolladen Rolling Shutters are being recognized by valley senior citizens, including residents of Sun City Anthem in Henderson. Fran Minnozzi, company owner, said the shutters help reduce power bills, prevent ultraviolet damage to furniture and carpeting, and act as a deterrent to crime. "... You also have many (senior citizens) who leave the valley for the summer months because of the heat. With their Rolladens, they can secure their homes and not worry while they're traveling. That's a big factor, when planning a long vacation. But those who do stay here don't want the bad power bills," she said. The shutters are filled-aluminum slats that cover windows, doors and dog doors. Minnozzi said they can lower power consumption by as much as 63 percent and help prevent burglaries. "Some of the people who move into Anthem want their shutters installed before they even move in. They want their homes totally prepared before they move," Minnozzi said. About 100 homes in the master-planned communities have had the shutters installed, she said. Rolladens are custom made in Las Vegas for residential and commercial use. The showroom is located at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday.
