Green Valley Plaza hosts holiday event

A free holiday celebration was held Dec. 16 in the Green Valley Plaza shopping center, at the southeast corner of Green Valley Parkway and Sunset Road.

The event featured holiday activities including a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and a "live" snowman.

Sponsors included American Nevada Corp., the primary developer of Green Valley.

Among the many activities were photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, balloon sculptures and holiday music. Goodies and prizes were distributed, and one lucky visitor won a pair of tickets to see the Back Street Boys in concert.

A decorating booth and gift wrapping booth were also featured.

A food drive for Safe House, a shelter for women and children, was held in conjunction with the event.
