Red Rock designed to match environs

The floor plans and Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired clubhouse at Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin have been designed to fit in with the natural terrain surrounding the community, according to Kevin Stall, an executive with developer Sunrise Colony Co.

"When it comes to natural beauty, there are few communities that compare to Red Rock Country Club. Residents tell us that the setting with Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area literally in our back yard is really the thing that sets us apart from other golf course communities in Southern Nevada," Stall said.

"And Sunrise Colony Co. did a wonderful job of designing homes that utilize the colors of nature as the backdrop and incorporate amenities such as abundant windows and balconies to capture the surrounding landscape."

Stall said the clubhouse reflects Wright's prairie style with extensive use of stone, art glass in desert hues and linear roof lines.

Against this backdrop, the developer has built two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses and a series of neighborhoods.

Four collections of homes -- Acacia, Mesquite, Ocotillo and Palo Verde -- are priced from the $350,000s to more than $2 million and offer designs measuring from 2,155 to 5,300 square feet. A few custom-home sites are also offered within The Estates section of the community.

The design staff at the sales center can guide homeowners through choices, options and customizing features. Options may include structural changes, alternate room configurations or additions, swimming pools, upgraded landscaping, patios, and lighting designs.

Amenities at the community include a sports club with exercise equipment, saunas, steam rooms, an aerobics studio, locker rooms and a supervised children's play center.

Across from the sports club is a 44,000-square-foot main clubhouse, featuring a golf shop, banquet facilities, a meeting room and two dining rooms.

A resort-style aquatic center offers a family pool, spa, adults-only pool, lap pool, splash-and-spray mini-park and outdoor grill. A stadium court and lighted hard-surface courts are featured at the tennis center.

The 738-acre, guard-gated community, which broke ground in early 1998 with the first residents moving into their homes in late 1999, has sold more than 600 homes.

To visit the country club, take Sahara Avenue west, past Town Center Drive, and follow the signs. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and go west.

The model homes and sales office are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing the Siena age-qualified community in Summerlin.
