Residences at MGM reports brisk sales

The three 40-story condominium-hotel towers at the Residences at MGM Grand are nearly sold out, according to sales director Dan Riordan.

"We began sales for The Residences in January 2004, and almost two years later (the first two towers) are sold out, and we have less than thirty percent of the residences remaining for sale in our third tower," Riordan said.

All three towers, adorned with 24-karat gold reflective coating, and the development's gatehouse are under construction on the northeast end of the hotel's 116-acre property. When complete, the towers will encompass 1,727 residences. The first tower is exepcted to open in June 2006.

Prospective buyers can choose from furnished studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom combination suites. Prices range from $600,000 to more than $2.5 million.

Residents will have access to built-in amenities from MGM Grand via an enclosed moving walkway that will link each tower to the hotel-casino.

Riordan pointed out that many of the buyers are from places such as California, New York, Chicago and Florida, as well as Asia and Mexico.

A furnished two-bedroom model is available for viewing at the sales office in the hotel's Studio Walk. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

The Residences is a joint venture between the hotel and Turnberry Associates.
