Teri Dodson collects bids and pricing and turns them into a development. Dodson is an estimator for Wagner Homes, serving in a capacity deemed necessary in today's home building market.
"I get pricing and bids from start to finish," she said recently during one brief break in a hectic day. "That includes the utilities, the lumber, the on-site and off-site right down to the interior and exterior paint -- anything that it takes to develop a subdivision."

According to Dodson, she's happy with her work and enjoys helping people reach their dream of owning a home.
"I just find it rewarding to be able to get the best prices for Wagner Homes and provide a quality and affordable home," Dodson said. "There's a great science to making all of this happen and there's great reward in knowing that you have made home ownership possible."
The biggest reason for the continuing pace at Wagner Homes, according to Dodson, is company founder Paul Wagner, who spent 13 years in the banking business before finally getting into the challenging world of home building.
"He is a cutting edge kind of guy," Dodson said of Wagner, who formed the company 22 years ago. "He wants to be the best at providing the newest. He strives to provide anything that can save his buyers money. He likes to be the first to try something different."
"She is absolutely invaluable to this company," he said of his three-year employee. "She does what we ask her to do. If you need pricing on something or need to negotiate anything, she gets it done."
Wagner Homes include models ranging from two to five bedrooms with up to 2,960 square feet in one- and two-story models. The homes are priced from the $300,000s.
