Keep up with the Joneses at U.S. Home's Stillwater Canyon
Richard and Emily Jones found the ideal home in which to raise their children at Stillwater Canyon, a U.S. Home neighborhood in southwest Las Vegas. The family is in the process of moving into their new home, where they will celebrate the holidays. "It's already like Christmas for all of us, because everything has been in storage for three months," Emily Jones said. "So the kids are having all kinds of fun just opening the moving boxes to find their toys." The Joneses are the parents of Andrew, 3; Corinne 5; Steven 9; and Benjamin, 11. They selected the Cherryhill II floor plan. "Richard and I ... wanted a large single-level home, not a two-story, and most of the communities we looked at only offered single-level designs under 2,000 square feet," Jones said. "We have a big family, and this floor plan is just perfect for us." The family's new home measures 2,594 square feet with four bedrooms, three baths, and a combined kitchen and family room area. The Cherryhill II can also be built with two bedrooms or as many as five bedrooms, and offers options such as a den, powder room, and an owner bedroom with a retreat and access to a covered patio. The owner suite features dual cultured-marble sinks, a separate shower, raised tub, linen cabinet and walk-in closet. Kitchen features include a pantry, granite counter tops, oak cabinets, built-in double ovens, dining counter, and pot and pan drawers. The plan also has a covered porch and a grand entry that opens to the living room, dining room and family room. Volume and vaulted ceilings further accent the interior. A fruit tree has been added to the Joneses' back yard, where a swimming pool is under construction. Buyers can choose from nine floor plans, ranging from 2,550 to 4,200 square feet, built on 70X110 lots. The neighborhood is in its final phase of development, with a limited number of homes ready for occupancy including a two-story Pacific Heights plan that measures 3,096 square feet and a two-story Beverly Hills design measuring 3,558 square feet on a corner lot. To visit Stillwater Canyon, take Tropicana Avenue to Fort Apache Road, head south to Mesa Vista Avenue then go west. The models are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m. U.S. Home is also developing seven other neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley. At Aberdeen at Southern Highlands, homes are priced from the $260,000s; Palazzo Monte at Seven Hills has homes available priced from the high $200,000s; Carriage Hills, in the southeast area, is in its final phase with prices starting from the mid-$200,000s; and Palomino Canyon, in the southwest area, offers homes priced from the $170,000s. In the northwestern valley is Copperfield, where nine floor plans are available and priced from the $190,000s; Torrey Pines Ranch, which offers lots as large as one-half acre and homes priced from the mid-$200,000s; and Steeplechase, where buyers can choose from 12 floor plans priced from the mid-$200,000s and built on lots as large as one-half acre.
