Couple makes beautiful music at Sun City Anthem
Singer Linda November and her husband, arranger Artie Schroeck, have played their share of sweet notes over the years. But at Del Webb's Sun City Anthem age-qualified community in Henderson, the couple also found a harmonious way to spend their retirement years. Schroeck, in his long career, has written songs such as Frank Sinatra's "Here's the Band," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of Youâ" sung by Frankie Valli. Schroeck also composed some tunes for his wife, who has performed them far and wide. "I was the jingle queen for 32 years," November said. "I've sung tunes for every toothpaste, car, candy, fast food chain, theme songs -- you name it, I sang it, more than 22,000 commercials." The musically oriented pair purchased the Liberty model, a home they considered a "perfect layout," according to November. The house was one of Sun City's inventory homes available for a quick move-in. "We converted one room into a studio for Artie's musical recordings, and have a casita for guests," she said. "We were delighted to find a home ... We had decided to move in May and this home gave us the opportunity to select many of the options." Sun City Anthem offers 19 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through the community's Gold Key program. Homes are priced from the high $130,000s to more than $500,000. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
