MacDonald Cos. set for price increase

The MacDonald Highlands luxury-home community will raise lot prices on Dec. 15, presenting an opportunity for buyers to take advantage of current prices, according to Rich MacDonald, president of MacDonald Cos.

"Now is a wonderful time to buy," MacDonald said. "Prime lots are available whether you are looking for a flat golf course lot or a hillside parcel."

Custom lots currently available in the Henderson community are priced from $185,000 to $3.5 million.

"Each home site is designed to offer the most exquisite views," MacDonald said. "Panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip, the mountain range or the private DragonRidge Country Club enhance the overall beauty of each individual home site."

Six custom lots with golf course views remain in the King's Links neighborhood. The home sites are also located across from a 4-acre park that will feature two lighted tennis courts. Prices for these lots start at $413,000. For a limited time, that price includes golf membership at DragonRidge.

The Bent Green neighborhood, site of the 2004 Street of Dreams event, features lots overlooking the 18th hole of DragonRidge along with city and mountain views. Custom-home sites range from one-half acre to one acre, and are priced from $402,000.

The Palisades neighborhood offers hillside acreage and flat golf course lots. The lots offer golf course and city views and range from .42 acres to 2.56 acres. Prices start at $305,000.

Lochmere features custom lots with golf course, lake and waterfall views. Lots range from one-quarter acre to one-half acre. Prices start at $291,000.

The Highlands, home to the 2002 Street of Dreams show, offers custom lots with views of the Las Vegas Valley or the mountains. Custom-home sites in this neighborhood range from one-third acre to one-half acre, and are priced from $198,000.

In addition, the Montrose neighborhood offers flat, estate-home sites overlooking the golf course. These lots will accommodate larger, single-story homes. Custom-home sites measure from .75 acres to .92 acres. Prices start at $582,000.

Upon completion, the guard-gated MacDonald Highlands will feature luxury residences in 17 neighborhoods on 1,200 acres. There are currently 10 active neighborhoods.

Estate homes start at $1.4 million and offer hillside or golf course locations.

In addition, a semicustom home neighborhood is being developed by home builder Toll Bros.

Community development plans include additional semicustom homes and luxury condominiums offering views of the golf course, mountains and city.

Planned community amenities include three parks encompassing a combined 10 acres with tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; play areas; and picnic facilities. A trail system is also planned.

The information center is located at 1700 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive and travel south. The office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
