Couple buys six homes in SienaSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
It was only three years ago that Maurice and Marlene Jones bought the first of six homes they would purchase in Siena. In fact, they were among the first home buyers at the age-qualified community in Summerlin. "We were very fortunate to have purchased early in Siena. When we sold our first home, we were able to move up to our next one. When we sold that one, we moved up once again and so forth," Maurice Jones said. Before their purchase, the Joneses were already familiar with the developer. "As former residents of the Palm Desert/Palm Springs, Calif.-area, we were very familiar with Sunrise Colony Co. and the quality communities they are known for, so we grasped the vision of the community right from the start," said Jones, a retired insurance broker. "My sister also lived in a Sunrise Colony Co. community in Palm Desert, and a year ago we purchased a home for her in Siena. Since then, she has also moved up in the community and we are all now enjoying our 7130 Plans." The Florence 7130 Plan measures 2,572 square feet and is priced from $312,500. It has three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, an island kitchen with a dining bar, sunrise room, living and dining rooms, and an optional den. Also featured is a two-car garage, plus golf cart storage. "We love this plan," Marlene Jones said. "It has tremendous closet space, the room layout works great and everything fits." Visiting the salon in the health and fitness center is one of Marlene Jones's favorite activities. "They do everything right there including haircuts and styling, massages, and manicures and pedicures. Peter and Kathy Kim, who run the salon, make everyone feel so special and it is so convenient," she said. The center also features an indoor swim pavilion, an outdoor pool and spa, tennis and bocce facilities, cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, exercise rooms, saunas, steam rooms and a wellness center. A 39,000-square-foot community center is under construction and is expected to open next spring. It will feature a dome-shaped lobby, lounge and grand ballroom. Meantime, an interim social center is open, and there is a full-time activities manager on-site. Siena residents are given preferred rates and tee times at the community's 18-hole, daily-fee golf course, which is complemented by a clubhouse with a pro shop and a full-service restaurant that can also serve as a venue for special events. The 665-acre community is planned to include 1,980 homes at buildout. Homes are priced from the $140,000s to the $370,000s, plus home-site premiums. Six Italian-themed collections feature 18 single-story floor plans, ranging from 1,040 to 3,200 square feet. Each plan offers three exterior designs. A design studio is on-site to assist buyers. To tour the model village, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 to Town Center Drive then go south to Siena Monte Avenue. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
