New York couple flip over Del Webb's Aliante
Mark Rubin and his wife, Mavis, recently visited a friend in Nevada. Upon visiting a presales office for Del Webb's Sun City Aliante, the couple decided to buy a home at the age-qualified community in North Las Vegas. "... We're pretty familiar with the Del Webb product, because we looked at homes every time we visited Las Vegas," Mark Rubin said. Rubin has lived in Brooklyn his entire life, while his wife moved to New York from her native London nearly 40 years ago. They met on a blind date and married four months later. Since the couple expect visitors from both New York and London, they selected the Primrose model for its space. "I love the home plan," Rubin said. "It has a separate kitchen which was important to me, and three bedrooms. We need the space." Their 1,424-square-foot home, part of the Wildflower Collection, also features two baths and a great room with dining area. An optional den in lieu of the third bedroom is available. The Rubins plan to use the home for their retirement when Mark Rubin steps down next spring from his position as a design engineer. Also available are the Cypress and Preserve collections, which feature homes priced from the mid-$140,000s to the mid-$230,000s. Models of the seven designs are under construction and expected to open early next year. The community will be built around an 18-hole municipal golf course. Other planned amenities include a recreation center with club and hobby rooms, tennis and bocce courts, a swimming pool and fitness center. "We especially look forward to swimming, tennis, exercise classes and getting to know people at the recreation center," Rubin said. A temporary sales office is open at 7891 Tropical Parkway, Suite 120, in the Centennial Marketplace at U.S. Highway 95 and Centennial Parkway. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aliante is bordered roughly by Grand Teton Drive to the north, Centennial Parkway to the south, Decatur Boulevard to the west and Clayton Street to the east.
