Christopher previews showcase home in Southern HighlandsSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Christopher Homes unveiled its newest showcase home in Southern Highlands at the recent VIP gala fund-raiser for the athletics program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. About $60,000 was raised at the event, which drew an estimated 400 guests to The Enclave, a custom neighborhood in Southern Highlands. Among those in attendance were Gov. Kenny Guinn; members of the UNLV Foundation; and John Robinson, head football coach and athletics director at UNLV. "We are particularly grateful to (Christopher Homes' CEO) Chris Stuhmer for helping us in so many ways," Robinson said. "This is a first-class gala in a beautiful home, and is the kind of event we like to be identified with. With your continued support, we hope to see this as an ongoing event for UNLV athletics." The 10,000-square-foot home is valued at $7.5 million and is the official showcase home for the International Builders Show, which will be held in Las Vegas in January 2003. The home will not be open for public viewing until February. The Enclave will comprise 18 homes, ranging from 5,000 to more than 10,000 square feet on home sites measuring from 13,800 to more than 35,000 square feet. Home prices, including the lot, are expected to range from about $1.5 million to more than $8 million. Included in the price of each home in The Enclave is a membership to Southern Highlands Golf Club, upon application approval. "Once again, Christopher Homes has raised the bar in terms of the elegance and convenience we offer our custom-home clients," said Mark Stuhmer, vice president of the builder's custom-home division. "To simplify the process to the ultimate degree, we have assembled a team of top professionals to create each of the magnificent custom homes that will be located in The Enclave. "Christopher Homes along with ... Scheurer Architects will design a unique custom home for each home site. Each home will be positioned to optimize views, and every stage of the custom design and build process will be handled in-house by our own team of design and construction experts." Southern Highlands is a guard-gated community in the southwestern valley. To visit, take Interstate 15 to the Henderson/Lake Mead exit, head west and follow the signs. Models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
