Vistas retains top sales position

The Vistas has become the fastest-selling village in Summerlin history with nearly 2,200 homes sold in less than two years, according to Larry Brocato, an executive with The Howard Hughes Corp., the community's developer.

"The Vistas' popularity has been phenomenal," Brocato said. "Buyers are attracted to the village's wide variety of home styles and prices, village amenities, including an elevated location overlooking the Las Vegas Valley, and convenient access to the western beltway. It's easy to see why The Vistas, with all it has to offer, has been so popular with home buyers."

The first village built west of Interstate 215, the 815-acre area features "European Italianate" architecture. It will be home to 28 neighborhoods; Linda Givens Elementary School, which is scheduled to open for the 2004 school year; a worship site; and a retail center along the village's southern border on West Charleston Boulevard.

Also planned is a 23-acre community park with the community's first lighted football field, lighted softball fields, lighted tennis courts, basketball courts, a picnic pavilion and play1ground.

Two complementary parks are located at the village's north and south entrances, both marked by 48-foot clock towers and arched entries. North Tower Park is complete; South Tower Park is under construction.

Landscaping and shaded seating areas line sidewalks meandering throughout the village.

To date, the village features 26 neighborhoods developed by eight home builders: Greystone Homes, KB Home, Kimball Hill Homes, Pulte Homes, R/S Development, Toll Bros., William Lyon Homes and Woodside Homes.

Apartments, built by Pacific Properties, will be available for rent early in 2004.

Summerlin has ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community for 10 of the past 11 years, according to independent surveys.

Nearly 120 models showcase the available single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Prices start from the low $200,000s to more than $700,000.

Custom-home sites are priced from the high $500,000s to more than $1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the low $800s.
