Homeowners build second residence at MacDonald Highlands

John and Keri Brewer enjoyed building their first custom home at MacDonald Highlands so much that they decided to build another one at the guard-gated community in Henderson.

"We love living in MacDonald Highlands," Keri Brewer said. "We built a single-story (home) the first time and now we've purchased a multilevel lot with panoramic views of the ... Strip."

The Brewers have listed their first custom home with MacDonald Highlands Realty. The single-story home sits on a half-acre lot and measures 4,450 square feet. It features three bedrooms, four baths, a family room with wet bar, game room, putting green, and backyard pool and spa.

Twelve custom neighborhoods are located within the community. Buyers can choose from various terrains including flat golf frontage, multilevel pads or hillside elevations with views of the DragonRidge golf course, mountains or city. The home sites measure from one-quarter acre to 2 1/2 acres and are priced from $220,000 to more than $3.5 million.

The newest neighborhoods are the gated Lairmont and Glenbrook Canyon. Lairmont is a 12-acre enclave of 16 golf course lots that range from .52 acres to 1.02 acres and are priced from $741,000 to $1.587 million. Glenbrook features hillside lots that measure from .66 acres to 2.08 acres and are priced from $743,000 to $2.03 million.

Central to the community is the private DragonRidge Country Club, which is open to limited public access until its membership capacity is reached. Its stone and glass clubhouse will feature a dining room, mixed grill and lounge, an exercise facility, swimming pool and pro shop.

The community also includes three parks that will encompass about 10 acres and feature tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; play areas; and picnic facilities. Also planned are five miles of walking trails.

To visit the information center at 1700 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100, take Interstate 215 to Valle Verde Drive, turn south and go to Horizon Ridge Parkway. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
