Pulte touts homes' energy efficiency
During winter, Pulte homeowners can rely on guaranteed heating costs due in part to the builder's Environments for Living technology. According to the builder, the energy-efficient homes have been designed, built and tested for optimal safety, durability, affordability and comfort. They exceed the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star requirements and are at least 30 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the Model Energy Code. "Having a Pulte Environments for Living home ensures that homeowners can enjoy all the benefits of the quality construction ... , making them energy efficient and comfortable to live in no matter what time of year," director of construction Nat Hodgson said. "Homeowners also appreciate the convenience and ease of maintaining the temperature in their homes without having to adjust the thermostat on a constant basis." He said the homes' tighter envelope seal also reduces drafts and outside noises. Additionally, the homes offer a three-year heating- and cooling-cost guarantee. Hodgson said the builder's technology includes improved methods of installing insulation, pressure balancing for heating and cooling equipment, low-e vinyl windows, fresh air ventilation and moisture management. Homes are independently tested during each stage of construction to ensure that specifications have been met. Pulte, among the nation's largest home builders, offers 19 subdivisions in Southern Nevada, including Silverstone Ranch and Wyeth Ranch in the northwest; Serenata and Vialetto in the Aliante master plan in North Las Vegas; Paradiso, Summerfield, Hillstone, Miramonte and Escala in Summerlin; and Anthem Highlands in Henderson. Its Del Webb brand is a leading builder of age-qualified communities.
