Ebenezer pays visit to Siena

Sunrise Colony Co. is celebrating the holidays by presenting scenes from Bishop Gorman High School's theatrical production of "A Christmas Carol," and by offering incentives valued from $15,000 to $43,000 on specific homes in its age-qualified Siena community in Summerlin.

On Saturday, Bishop Gorman's theater department will present scenes and songs from Charles Dickens' holiday tale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the community's model village. The Lamplighter Christmas Carolers, a quartet decked out Victorian costumes, will perform holiday favorites each weekend through Dec. 17. Holiday refreshments will be served.

"Siena is certainly no Scrooge," said Ed Smith, vice president of sales and the community's Santa Claus. "But there are only a few days left to take advantage of Siena's `Homes for the Holiday' packages worth thousands of dollars, since we need to close escrow by Dec. 20."

The incentives are on select homes and can be used for upgrades at the community's design center. Other packages include golf carts and appliance packages.

The single-story, detached homes available in this program are priced from the mid-$150,000s to more than $650,000 on recently released lots.

The 14 Mediterranean-style floor plans range from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet. Many of the homes offer views of the city and the community's golf course.

A fitness center, to open this month, will have exercise equipment, saunas, steam rooms and an indoor lap pool. Additional facilities will include lighted tennis courts, bocce courts and swimming pools. A full-time fitness director is on staff.

A palm-lined street leads to the Tuscan-style entry. The entire community is patrolled by round-the-clock security.

The 665-acre project will have a community center with arts and crafts facilities, a ballroom and theater, card and billiards rooms, and a computer and business center. There is a full-time activities manager.

A drop-off center for the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program is located at the community. Residents and visitors can bring unwrapped toys. Canned goods are also being collected for the needy.

To visit, take Sahara Avenue to Town Center Drive and turn south. Proceed past Desert Inn Road and follow the signs.

The model homes and sales center are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
