Entertainer buys home at Sun City Anthem
Realty agent and soon-to-be Sun City Anthem resident Sue Kim Bonifazio, formerly a professional entertainer, discovered the perfect new home for herself in the Independence model at the age-qualified community by Del Webb in Henderson. "My mother-in-law has lived with my husband John and I for 33 years, and the dual master bedroom featured by the Independence is a great layout for us," she said. A member of the Kim Sisters, Sue Kim came to Las Vegas from Korea in 1959. She and her two sisters performed briefly in the China Doll Revue at the old Thunderbird Hotel and then were hired by the Stardust Hotel for a 15-year run. During that time, they appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, Dean Martin Show, Dinah Shore Show and two international tours. "I've been everywhere and I never dreamed of a place like Sun City Anthem with its lifestyle advantages. I'm overwhelmed and proud to become a resident here," Bonifazio said. Since moving to the United States, Bonifazio has brought 45 family members to America, and has introduced several friends and family members to her new community. "My son Anthony purchased a home at Del Webb's Anthem Country Club, as did my sister Mia. I tell my clients and friends Sun City Anthem is the No. 1 retirement community in the country. This is where I want to be for the rest of my life," she said. The community offers 19 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through its Gold Key program. Numerous options are available. Homes are priced from the high $130,000s to more than $500,000. "We currently own a much larger home with rooms we don't use," Bonifazio said. "With the Independence, we added skylights, a bay window, upgraded flooring and appliances, the things that matter to us." The community features the Anthem Center, which offers fitness, social and recreational opportunities for residents as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public. The Revere at Anthem offers two 18-hole championship golf courses: the Lexington and the Concord. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
