Terra West gives boost to youth group

Terra West Property Management's recent employee bake sale raised more than $550 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas.

"The bake sale took place over a month," said Audrey Fargo, charity committee chairperson for Terra West. "Employees brought in baked goods and sold them to each other for 25 cents or 50 cents per item.

"We raised almost $100 more than last year, and thirty-five children will be able to go to the Wet 'n Wild water park and have lunch, too. We are very pleased to contribute to this worthy cause for the third year in a row."

"We thank Terra West for their continuing support," said Debbie Smith, director of marketing and special events for the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Smith said the agency currently serves more than 11,000 members through 12 facilities and off-site programs in Clark County. Its mission is to inspire and empower all young people, with special concern for those from disadvantaged circumstances, to develop the skills, self-esteem and self-reliance necessary to become productive, responsible and caring citizens. Their goal is to maintain year-round access for youngsters from all backgrounds.

The charity committee was created two years ago to assist nonprofit organizations throughout the Las Vegas Valley, according to Fargo.

"Every one of our 90 employees has contributed in one way or another to our charitable efforts," she said. "Our efforts wouldn't succeed without everyone contributing."

The company's next charity event will be a clothing drive in September to benefit Safe Nest, a shelter for battered women and their children.

Terra West's community association division manages 160 associations consisting of more than 46,000 homes. The residential leasing division manages more than 800 rental properties valleywide.
