Rolladen shutter buyers tout product's benefits

Jeff and Tammy Homeyer purchased Rolladen Rolling Shutters for their two-story home several months ago, and swear by the product.

"We love our shutters," Tammy Homeyer said. "Our kids especially like them because they can sleep until two in the afternoon in the summertime."

Jeff Homeyer agreed.

"The shutters reduce the intense heat during the mornings and afternoons," he said. "They have been a tremendous help, and we really notice the difference if we fail to roll them during the day. We try not to open them at all during the summer."

The shutters are foam-filled aluminum slats that cover doors, windows and pet doors. They can reduce power consumption by as much as 64 percent, according to company owner Fran Minnozzi. The shutters can be operated electrically or manually, and are available in an assortment of colors to match a home or commercial property.

The showroom is located at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd., just west of Jones Boulevard. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday by appointment.
