Warmington focuses on attached housing

Warmington Homes-Nevada has filled a niche in the multifamily housing market, according to Greg Oberling, president of the builder's Las Vegas division. He said there is a surplus of move-up homes and a lack of lower-priced, high-density homes, so the company will focus on building lower-cost condominiums and apartments.

In January 2001, the company began selling homes at Antigua, a 264-unit condominium development in the southeastern valley. Priced from the high $80,000s, fewer than 20 units remain to be sold.

Several weeks ago, sales started at Legends at Lone Mountain, a condominium and townhome development in the northwest area. Prices start from the low $100,000s. Oberling said 25 homes have been sold.

Oberling said the company has several new parcels in escrow, and will introduce its Kingston patio home development next month. Located in the southwestern valley, it will comprise 86 single-story homes priced from the $140,000s to the $160,000s. Floor plans will measure from 1,288 to 1,567 square feet with as many as three bedrooms and attached two-car garages.

Oberling said there is a waiting list for the Kingston homes.
