Red Rock shows off clubhouse
More than 200 people, including members and prospective members, recently took a sneak preview of the Red Rock Country Club sports clubhouse. The facility officially opens on Sept. 5.
Personal training, aerobic, tennis and day care staff conducted tours, answered questions and discussed planned events and activities.
"Throughout the day we received rave reviews for the quality and beauty of our sports clubhouse facility," membership director Janet Evans said. "People were not only impressed by the scope of our facilities and equipment, but they were also struck by the unique architectural features and the quality of the interior furnishings and appointments.
"It is very apparent that the clubhouse will be an exciting departure from the typical athletic club. Every aspect of its design inside and out reflects the high level of quality that is a trademark of all country club communities developed by Sunrise Colony Co."
The clubhouse will feature pools, spas and an outdoor grill. A tennis center will feature eight lighted, hard-surface courts. There will also be an aerobics room, playground and tennis shop.
The 738-acre, guard-gated development in western Summerlin, adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, will feature two 18-hole golf courses. About 1,100 homes will be built along the courses.
Nearly 300 homes have been sold in the first year and about 70 home buyers have moved into the community.
Of the 17 floor plans offered in five collections of homes, 15 are modeled at the development. The one- and two-story designs range from 2,156 to 7,000 square feet and come in three exterior styles. Homes with as many as six bedrooms and four-car garages are available.
Prices start from the high $280,000s to more than $1 million.
Buyers have access to an in-house design studio. Options include casitas, courtyards with fireplaces, owner retreats with media niches and fireplaces, and wet bars.
Exteriors feature front- and rear-yard landscaping with irrigation and accent lighting, walkways and patios.
The development's first 18-hole golf course opened to members in June. The 44,000-square-foot main clubhouse is scheduled to open in mid-2000.
A 4,300-square-foot interim clubhouse features a pro shop and casual dining. The 8-acre practice facility includes a 40,000-square-foot range with six target greens; a 13,000-square-foot putting green; and an area for bunker shots.
To visit, take Sahara Avenue west past Town Center Drive to Red Rock Ranch Road and turn left. Turn right at Red Springs Drive. Models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Additionally, Sunrise Colony Co. is developing Siena, an age-restricted community, which is also in Summerlin.
This 665-acre development will feature 1,900 homes, with about one-third adjacent to an 18-hole golf course. The neighborhood has a village-style design with a central promenade alongside a quarter-mile lake, which will feature 40 feet of waterfalls.
The single-story, detached homes range from 1,250 to 3,100 square feet. Early-phase prices range from $140,000 to $450,000 for homes along the golf course.
To visit, take Sahara Avenue west to Town Center Drive and follow the signs. The sales office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
