Sunrise Colony Co. hosts `Siena Swings'

     Sunrise Colony Co. is hosting "Siena Swings" tonight at the welcome center of its Siena development in Summerlin.
      The "Swing Things," a group consisting of Las Vegas musicians, will perform. The event will feature free dance lessons, refreshments and a guided tour of the age-restricted community.
      The event is free and open to the public. Valet parking will be provided.
      More than 55 homes have been sold during the first few months of sales. The 665-acre community will feature an 18-hole golf course and five collections of homes with 14 floor plans.
      The single-story homes range from 1,250 to 3,100 square feet, each with three exterior styles and customizing options. There is also a design studio.
      Early-phase prices range from $140,000 to $450,000 for homes along the golf course.
      Construction of the golf course, model homes and phase one homes is under way and the first homes are expected to be completed by November. The first nine holes of the golf course are expected to be open for play in January 2000 with the second nine holes opening in the spring.
      The terrain will provide a variety of views. About one-third of the 1,900 homes will be built adjacent to the golf course.
      The community will feature a guard-gated entry and a quarter-mile-long lake with a promenade and 40 feet of waterfalls.
      Other community amenities will include a 32,000-square-foot village center with a bar, lounge, library, 5,700-square-foot ballroom with a stage, meeting rooms, a billiard room, business center, craft room, communication center and computer lab.
      A 14,700-square-foot fitness center will contain exercise equipment, locker rooms, saunas, steam and massage rooms, an indoor lap pool and a wellness center.
      Outdoor recreational amenities will include a swimming pool, spa, lighted tennis courts and boccie courts.
      The 9,700-square-foot golf club will feature a pro shop, multi-tiered driving range and a grill room with patio dining offering lake, golf course and city views.
      The temporary sales office is located on the northeast corner of Sahara Avenue and Town Center Drive. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. To visit the community, take Sahara Avenue west past Town Center Drive to Red Rock Ranch Road, go south and turn right on Red Springs Drive.
