Security officers on duty at Rhodes Ranch

Rhodes Ranch residents have peace in knowing that the community's security patrol is on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Rhodes Ranch is a guard-gated community that puts security first," securty director Mario Cardinaletti said. "Our goal is to provide a presence within the walls of the community, observe and respond as needed."

Cardinaletti oversees an 18-member security and patrol detail. Among the duties of the trained officers is to screen visitors at the main entrance, and check with residents to make sure their visitors are cleared to enter. The officers also routinely check the community's perimeter walls and fences, ensure that motorists observe the speed limit, and assist emergency crews when needed.

"When an emergency vehicle needs to respond inside of Rhodes Ranch, we provide assistance and escort to the residence where the emergency is occurring," Cardinaletti said. "This helps to ensure a quicker arrival time."

The officers' duties do not end there. They will check on the homes of residents who are out of town, and ensure that schoolchildren who live in Rhodes Ranch return home safely when school buses arrive at the gate to the community.

"We want to provide a comfort level for the residents of Rhodes Ranch, giving them a secure feeling within the community," Cardinaletti said. "We'll even help them find lost pets."

All of the officers are trained in first aid.

Central to the community is the Rhodes Ranch Golf Club, a public course that many of the homes align.

The newest homes available are in The Collection, which offers 11 models. Floor plans range from a three-bedroom design measuring 1,467 square feet to a 4,138-square-foot model with five bedrooms, a library and master-bedroom retreat. The residences are priced from the mid-$440,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive and go south.
