Ultimate family home: On with the showSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Pardee Homes' Ultimate Family Home, built for the 2004 International Builders Show, is on the market. The 5,300-square-foot, Spanish contemporary-style custom residence is priced at $2.2 million. "Because it was designed with the input of local families, we hope that a local family is lucky enough to move into this incredible home. It comes complete with lots of exciting features, inside and out," Ray Landry, assistant vice president of sales, said. "This one-of-a-kind home is a showcase for the latest technology, seamlessly automating daily needs such as security, Internet access, household management and energy efficiency, as well as music, games and videos," he said. "One of our favorite aspects is its innovative home management center, which serves as `Grand Central Station' with computer stations and plenty of space for homework, organizing and handling family activities and finances." Located within Pardee's Nevada Trails community in southwest Las Vegas, the home sits on a half-acre lot and features a resort-style back yard with a pavilion, jungle treehouse, fire pit, two barbecues, a swimming pool and waterslide. Interior highlights include four bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths, a family kitchen plus an extended kitchen, and a tower loft. Furniture, fixtures and artwork are included. Landry said the home represents the start of Pardee's participation in the Department of Energy's Zero Energy Home program, which emphasizes energy-efficient and sustainable construction. The builder has incorporated energy-saving technologies used in the show home into its new neighborhoods at Nevada Trails. "Built-in energy efficiencies and sustainable features put this home on the forefront of earth-friendly living," he said. "By combining solar electric power with fluorescent lighting and other energy-saving features, the home is designed to use much less energy than a typical Las Vegas home of the same size." To visit Nevada Trails, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, go one mile south to Robindale Road and turn right. Pardee has pledged to build only Energy Star homes, which exceed federal energy-efficiency requirements by at least 30 percent. The company has built nearly 30,000 homes in Southern Nevada since 1952.
