Aliante partners with Lied Animal Shelter

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Adoptable dogs and free ice cream will both be available today at Aliante. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors are invited to enjoy the festivities that are part of the second annual Ice Cream Sunday and Pet Adoption event at the master-planned community in North Las Vegas.

Planned activities include children's rides, bounce houses, balloons and face painting, while Lied Animal Shelter will host the pet adoption. The festivities will be held in the community's 20-acre Nature Discovery Park, which is near the southeast corner of Interstate 215 and Aliante Parkway.

"Lied Animal Shelter does a wonderful job and they really need the community's support and help in finding suitable homes for so many abandoned animals," Kimiko Peterson, community marketing manager, said. "Last year's pet adoption at Aliante was a huge success and, with so many more families now living in this community, we hope to see lots of dogs find adoptive homes today."

Dogs of varying breeds and ages will be brought from the shelter throughout the day. Each has been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and is current on their shots for the next year. The entire adoption process can be handled at the event, so families will be able to take their new pets home today. The shelter provides a free leash with each dog, as well as one free vet visit.

North Valley Enterprises, the developer of Aliante, is a supporter of the shelter. Last May, the company presented the shelter with a check for $6,726, which was raised in the Trails & Tails running and walking event and pet adoption at the community.

At 1,905 acres, Aliante features all-ages and age-qualified villages. Builders in the all-ages village are Astoria Homes, Del Webb, KB Home, D.R. Horton, Lennar, Meritage Homes, Pardee Homes, Pulte Homes and US Home. Del Webb also is developing Sun City Aliante, a community for those age 55 and older.

Homes are priced from the $170,000s to the $700,000s.

Nearly one-fourth of the community is designated for recreational and public purposes, including a municipal golf course, parks, more than 20 miles of trails and an arroyo. Plans also call for three schools and about 100 acres of commercial development including retail and business centers, as well as a 40-acre resort with gaming.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go south.

An information center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

North Valley Enterprises is an affiliate of developers American Nevada Co. and Del Webb.
