Del Webb augments amenities
Del Webb is expanding the amenities offered at its age-qualified communities as construction continues on recreation centers at Sun City Anthem in Henderson and Sun City Aliante in North Las Vegas. At Sun City Anthem, a 35,865-square-foot facility will complement the existing 77,363-square-foot Anthem Center. It is set for completion in the spring. "The Phase Two recreation center is a wonderful addition for Sun City Anthem's ... adult lifestyle," said Dea McDonald, vice president of land development for the builder and president of the homeowners association. Highlights of the $8.9 million center include a 4,200-square-foot fitness center, a multipurpose room, woodworking shop, arts and crafts room, card room, billiards room, and speaker's hall and performing arts facility with auditorium seating and a stage. A committee of residents helped determine amenities to be featured in the center. As plans developed, more than 4,000 square feet was added, primarily to accommodate a Community Services Center that will house resident groups such as the emergency preparedness committee, security patrol and service club. Twelve home designs ranging from 1,496 to 3,175 square feet are available at the community. They are priced from the high $370,000s to the low $660,000s. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left on Anthem Parkway and then turn right on Alexandria Drive. Models are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sun City Aliante's 17,825-square-foot recreation center also is set to open in the spring. It will feature a fitness center, indoor swimming pool and spa, computer and hobby rooms, and sun deck. The estimated cost is $5 million. Tennis and bocce courts are already open, and a variety of social groups have been formed. "Once our facility opens, our clubs will have a formal place to continue the camaraderie that's been started within their resident groups," Janice Neitzert, community association manager, said. Open since October 2002, the 326-acre community offers seven home designs ranging from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet. They are priced from the mid-$310,000s to the mid-$450,000s and include landscaping in the front and back yards. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go north. The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All of the builder's homes exceed the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star requirements and incorporate the Environments for Living building technology, which includes energy-saving features such as low-e windows and blown-in cellulose insulation. They also offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use and comfort guarantee. The builder is a subsidiary of Pulte Homes. It also offers the age-qualified Solera at Anthem community in Henderson, as well as the all-ages Club Aliante in North Las Vegas.
