Prairie Rose impresses buyers
The decision to buy a new home at Prairie Rose was an "easy choice" for Michael and Vickie Gloekler. They said the neighborhood offers the ideal location and floor plan.
"It has all the elements we were looking for in a new home and community," Vickie Gloekler said. "What's really special is our home is located directly across from the one of the community parks."
The couple chose the 1,780-square-foot Prairie Dawn plan, which has three bedrooms, two baths, a formal dining room, and a great room with a fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with a breakfast bar, nook and pantry.
Michael Gloekler was impressed by the "charm" of the neighborhood.
"Small details such as gaslights along the streets ... and the brick inserts in the driveways really make a difference," he said.
The Gloekler's daughter, Katie, was equally impressed.
"I definitely like the neighborhood and how there are parks, not just rows and rows of houses," she said. "And our new home is so bright and open, it's very cheerful."
Amstar Homes is building Prairie Rose in the northwestern valley.
"I work on the outskirts of Henderson, so one of the key factors to our purchase was the fact that the (Las Vegas) Beltway will soon be completed, making my commute a lot more pleasant," Vickie Gloekler said. "Plus, we enjoy the quiet surroundings out here. And because it's an all-single-story neighborhood, we can enjoy unobstructed views."
Two additional floor plans are available.
The Summer Dream plan measures 1,828 square feet with two or three bedrooms and two baths, while the Victorian Lace model offers three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in 1,920 square feet.
Homes are priced from the low $150,000s.
All homes include volume ceilings, plant shelves and niches, interior laundry areas, light fixtures, cultured-marble vanity tops, raised-panel interior doors and ceramic-tile flooring at entry.
Kitchens, per plan, feature island workstations, pre-plumbing for ice makers, and an appliance package.
Front-yard landscaping with irrigation and enclosed rear yards with wrought-iron gates are included.
To visit the neighborhood, take U.S. Highway 95 to Durango Drive and head north. The sales office and models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
