Brothers stay together at Siena
When brothers Jerry and Bill McElroy first visited Siena, it was a rainy day and the temporary sales center had just opened. "We had to walk through the mud to get to our car but we immediately knew that Siena was going to be the community for us, even though at the time there was nothing here," Bill McElroy said. Jerry McElroy purchased a home at the age-qualified village before his brother, becoming the 23rd resident of the community in December 1999. He purchased Plan 6130 in the Como Collection, which measures 2,070 square feet with two bedrooms, a den or third bedroom, and 2 1/2 baths. "I watched my brother's house being built and helped him get settled in and pretty soon I knew that I wanted to live at Siena, too," Bill McElroy said. Bill McElroy convinced his wife of 45 years, Irene, to sell their Southern California home and purchase Plan 6150 in the Como Collection, which has two bedrooms, a den and two baths. Both brothers enjoy their homes and community. "The homes are built with many custom features, including stucco under the overhangs, and the community is well thought out," Jerry McElroy said. "And the community had everything just the way we wanted it from no street lights to the great fitness center and amenities." Designed in an Italian theme, the 14 single-story floor plans range from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet. Prices start from the $160,000s to the $600,000s. Each plan offers three exterior designs and a range of customizing options, such as courtyard fireplaces and casitas. Interior designers can assist buyers with options and choices. The Tuscan-themed, 15,900-square-foot fitness center features an indoor swim pavilion with a 25-meter pool, spa and series of two-story windows overlooking the golf course. It also has exercise rooms, private saunas and steam rooms. A full-service beauty salon and day spa offers therapeutic massages, sports therapy, reflexology and treatments. There is also an outdoor pool, spa, and lighted tennis and bocce courts. A social center has a computer lab, billiards and cards rooms, and hosts a variety of classes ranging from ballroom dancing to painting. Open to the public on a daily-fee basis, a par-72, 18-hole championship golf course winds through the village. One-third of the community's 1,900 homes will be built along the course. Residents are given special rates and preferred tee times. The guard-gated community also offers security patrols. To visit, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 to Town Center Drive and go south to Siena Monte Avenue. The sales office and model homes are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
