Couple appreciates Anthem's versatility
Sun City Anthem, a Del Webb Corp. age-qualified community in Henderson, is suitable to working adults as well as retirees, according to Deborah Fackett, who recently purchased a home with her husband Gary. "This is a great transitional neighborhood," Fackett said. "Once you live here you don't have to look anywhere else. Entertainment, health services through the St. Rose Hospital wellness programs, social and recreational opportunities ... it's all right here. You never have to move again." Among other amenities, the Facketts use the fitness center. "The exercise facility is fantastic. I love the pool, the exercise equipment and personal fitness program," she said. The 77,363-square-foot community center includes indoor and outdoor pools, walking paths, exercise equipment, free weights, fitness classes, a wellness center, massage studio, and Trumpets Restaurant, which is open to the public. Deborah Fackett said she was impressed with the ease of purchasing a home at the community. After the couple from Phoenix, Ariz., visited Las Vegas several times over the years, they decided to move to the valley. "We found a field model, and the purchase couldn't have been easier. The entire process took only 22 days," she said. The Facketts selected the 2,411-square-foot Lexington model. Deborah Fackett said she likes the "openness of the layout," saying that they "enjoy the master bedrooms, the home office, the theater room, the family room and the kitchen." The lifestyle at the community also attracted the couple. "Although Sun City Anthem is an age-qualified community, it's a young crowd out here. Many of our neighbors are still working, as we both are, and there is lots going on. You can do as little or as much as you want to," she said Gary Fackett has played on both of the community's golf courses. One is the Lexington, a 7,143-yard, par-72, 18-hole course, and the Concord measures 7,050 yards. Deborah Fackett also spends her free time volunteering for United Blood Services. She is working on a fund-raiser involving masks painted by celebrity artists, which will be auctioned. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway, turn left and proceed to Alexandria Drive. Models are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
