Pulte to host golf tournament

Pulte Homes' Las Vegas Division will host its second annual charity golf tournament in September to benefit the public television's Ready to Learn Program and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.

The tournament, scheduled for Sept. 17, will begin at 6:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast and check-in. Play will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Two hole-in-one contests are planned, offering the opportunity to win a Land Rover from Land Rover Las Vegas. In addition, the tournament includes a buffet lunch and refreshments.

Also included is a cocktail reception and silent auction from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Guggenheim Las Vegas, which is inside The Venetian.

In addition, the fee includes a private museum tour and story-telling session for children designed to promote art in education. It is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 7.

The entry fee is $350 per person.

For more information, tickets or sponsorship opportunities, call Pulte Homes representative Christy Stratton at 256-7900.

Last year, Pulte Homes raised more than $45,000 for the Ready to Learn Program, which was used to purchase books and provide children's programming aimed at educational success.

"Pulte Homes is dedicated to providing children with access to better education," said Steve Petruska, local division president for Pulte Homes/Del Webb.

"We all have families ourselves and what better way to show support for the community than through the support of education for local children."

The builder, based in Michigan, has nine new-home subdivisions in Southern Nevada with Cara Vella and Sage Hills open for presales in Summerlin.

Pulte Homes has operations in 43 markets across the United States, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Through its Del Webb operations, the company is a leading builder of age-qualified communities. The home builder also operates its own lending company, Pulte Mortgage Corp.
