Pavona builder's reputation spurs new-home purchase
With the upcoming return of Debbie Freeman's parents from a three-year mission in Zimbabwe, she and her husband, Paul, knew it was time to start searching for a home of their own. Based on past experience with their own home and the time they spent at her parents' new home, they knew exactly where to begin and end their search. "Just before my parents left, they purchased a new home from another builder and they asked us to live here and take care of it for them while they were gone. That meant that we were the ones who had to work with the home builder about their customer service issues, and it was a nightmare. Before this, Paul and I owned a Richmond American home, and the difference between the two builders was like night and day," Debbie Freeman said. With the time right to shop for a home for their family of four, which includes daughters Bailey, 3, and Reagan, 1, the Freemans did their homework. "We have seen literally hundreds of homes during the past eight months -- both new and resale. Since we had the time to look, we wanted to make sure we were very happy with our final decision. And when we heard about Pavona by Richmond American Homes, we knew it was the perfect solution for us," she said. "We heard about Pavona while we were visiting another Richmond community, and we waited six months for the models to be built. When we finally received the information about the pricing and the floor plans, we thought Richmond must have made a mistake. The homes at Pavona were larger, more affordable, and included more standard features. That's when we knew Pavona was exactly what we were looking for." She said the home-buying process at the northwestern valley neighborhood was a "first-class" experience. She credited her sales agent and the company's mortgage division for making the process "smooth and easy." The Freemans selected the Lanier, one of five single- and two-story floor plans available. The 1,985-square-foot, two-story design features three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Priced from the $180,000s, the home also has formal living and dining rooms, family room, and morning room located off the kitchen. Also available is the 2,189-square-foot Lauro, which is priced from the $190,000s. The design offers as many as four bedrooms and options for a third-story attic loft, front porch and patio/deck. The Verdi plan measures 2,207 square feet and is priced from the high $190,000s. The three-bedroom, two-bath Roze plan, which measures 2,201 square feet, is also priced from the high $190,000s. Measuring 2,785 square feet is the Mozart. It offers four bedrooms and three baths, and is priced from the low $200,000s. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Ann Road, go east to Decatur Boulevard and turn north. Go west on Elkhorn Road and turn north on Thom Boulevard. Models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday and Friday, when they open at noon.
