Pardee showcases LivingSmart program
Water conservation, one of the features of Pardee Homes' LivingSmart program, is showcased at its Aliso and Ventana neighborhoods at the new Vista Verde community in northwest Las Vegas. The model park features a desert demonstration garden with water-efficient landscaping offering a variety of colorful plants. Built with advice from the Las Vegas Valley Water District, the garden features plants that are water-efficient and suitable for Southern Nevada's desert climate. The models were built around the garden and feature xeriscape designs, including the use of artificial turf. "The model park at Vista Verde is truly beautiful and provides a great source of ideas for our home buyers, many of whom are choosing to incorporate water-efficient landscaping into their new homes at Aliso and Ventana," sales director Rob Tuvell said. The builder has been cited by Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and Southern Nevada Water Authority chairman and Henderson Councilwoman Amanda Cyphers for its water-conservation efforts. In addition to water-efficient landscaping, home buyers can choose from environmentally friendly options such as solar electricity, fluorescent lighting, tankless water heaters, low VOC paint and central vacuum systems. At buildout, the community will comprise as many as 900 homes, starting with the Aliso and Ventana neighborhoods. Priced from $179,950 to $223,950, Aliso offers four models with as many as five bedrooms and three baths in as much as 2,566 square feet. Features include great rooms, island kitchens, and optional lofts and bay windows. Ventana's four single- and two-story plans feature as many as six bedrooms in as much as 4,030 square feet. The single-story plans offer courtyard entries and optional Nevada rooms. Floor plan variations include game rooms, teen rooms and workshops. Homes are priced from $262,950 to $302,950. Homes in both neighborhoods feature the Energy Star/ComfortWise package and are independently certified to be at least 30 percent more energy efficient than federal standards require.
