Liberty at Warm Springs welcomes first-time home buyersSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
KB Home celebrates the grand opening today of Liberty at Warm Springs, a neighborhood in the southwestern valley. Buyers can choose from six two-story floor plans, measuring from 1,267 to 1,486 square feet and priced from the $140,000s. They offer two to four bedrooms, 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 baths, and one-car garages. From noon to 3 p.m., visitors can enjoy guest appearances by Las Vegas 51s baseball players and team mascot "Cosmo," refreshments and entertainment. Shelly Stewart, vice president of sales and marketing for the builder's Las Vegas division, said the neighborhood is ideal for many people who thought they could not afford a home. "Many buyers are surprised at how easy it can be to buy a home," she said. "KB Home takes the guesswork out of financing through its Homebuyers Club and the KB Home Mortgage Company." The builder offers one-stop shopping at its 22,000-square-foot design center, where home buyers may select options and upgrades and potential home buyers can receive free financial advice, including credit reports, and assistance locating a house in one of the builder's more than 20 new neighborhoods. The facility is located at 7440 S. Industrial Road, Suite 201, just south of Warm Springs Road. The neighborhood has proved especially popular with first-time buyers who are tired of paying rent, sales agents said. Megan Riley, who attends college and has a job, is one of those buyers. "A lot of people I know are graduating and buying houses. I didn't want to wait until I graduated, because I have a great job and now is a good time to buy versus renting," Riley said. "I was one of the first people who purchased at Liberty at Warm Springs." The neighborhood's no-maintenance front yards and low-maintenance side yards will help make Riley's life a little easier. "I like the patio yard (because) I don't need a big yard and don't have time for a lot of upkeep," she said. Upon move-in, Riley plans to organize a block party. To visit Liberty at Warm Springs while construction takes place nearby, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive, go south to Arby Avenue and turn right. Proceed to Riley Street and turn left. KB Home also builds in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas and Florida. The company is also one of the largest home builders in France.
