Recreational amenities, plans attract family to Elk Ridge

Sumer and Mark McPhee found the ideal floor plan and neighborhood for their growing family at Avante Homes' Elk Ridge neighborhood in the northwestern valley.

"We were in the process of looking at a variety of new single-family neighborhoods and a number of resale homes as well, but we weren't finding the combination of features we wanted," Sumer McPhee, a realty agent, said.

"Then my father suggested that we visit Elk Ridge, because he had recently toured the models and was very impressed.

"We loved the unique, trilevel design of the home we chose and the generous list of amenities included in the base price," she said. "We were also pleased to be able to select a large home site that gives us a beautiful view of the Elk Ridge neighborhood park. With a 19-month-old daughter and a baby boy arriving in a few weeks, it will be nice to be so close to our own community park."

McPhee said they also were pleased by the service they received from builder's staff.

"Everyone we dealt with at Avante Homes was friendly, knowledgeable and responsive to our questions and requests. I appreciate that kind of service -- both as a consumer and as a Realtor."

About 40 of the gated neighborhood's 251 homes remain available.

Priced from the low $300,000s, the neighborhood features two home collections offering six designs, ranging from 1,616 to 2,755 square feet. The flexible plans have as many as five bedrooms, with some offering a bonus room and three-car garage.

Included in the homes are features such as upgraded cabinetry, granite-tile counter tops, and an energy-efficiency package with low-e windows, radiant barrier sheathing, and R-13 exterior wall insulation.

Neighborhood amenities include a nearly 4-acre park with a playground.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Durango Drive, go east to El Capitan Way, turn north and proceed to O'Hare Road and head west.

The neighborhood's sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at noon.
