Agent reports early interest at Wexford at GlenEagles
Curious home shoppers began calling to inquire about Wexford at GlenEagles weeks before the temporary sales office opened, according to sales agent Sandy McBride.
"I had a list of prospective buyers to call long before we opened for sales," McBride said. "These people really went out of their way, stopping to write down our corporate phone number and calling for information, even though all we had at the site was a sign. Since actually opening for presales a week ago, I've had more than 100 interested buyers pick up brochures, and the response has been tremendous."
Prices start in the $90,000s.
The development features two neighborhoods of one- and two-story homes ranging from about 950 to 3,248 square feet. Floor plans offer two to six bedrooms and two to 4 1/2 baths. Some also offer three-car garages.
"Generally, buyers in this price range are accustomed to having very little control over the design of their home," Susan Berger, operations manager for Wexford Homes, said. "Here, each homeowner will be able to take advantage of our exclusive Wexford Design System. It's a user-friendly computer system that allows buyers to modify and personalize their selected floor plans in ways that were previously impossible, other than through building a custom home. It gives each of our buyers a true sense of creating their own custom floor plan."
Buyers can add a family room, bedroom or bedroom suite, den, bonus room or formal dining room to their floor plan. Once a buyer selects a plan variation, the sales agent prints out the final design and construction of the home begins.
Other options include a choice of counter tops; fireplaces in the family room, living room and owner suite; skylights; crown molding; custom interior paint; an appliance package; a choice of cabinet finishes; a computer wiring system; window coverings; and a security system.
The neighborhood will feature Southwestern-style architecture and landscaped areas.
Six model homes are scheduled to open in January 2000.
Exteriors include concrete-tile roofs, lighted entries, front-yard landscaping with irrigation, and block walls.
Interiors feature vaulted ceilings; plant shelves; rounded corners; raised-panel doors; owner suites with dual-sink vanities, tubs and walk-in closets in select plans; laundry rooms; and prewiring for cable TV.
To visit, take Martin Luther King Boulevard to Alexander Road and go east to Kings Hill Road. The sales center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
