Calico Ridge takes buyers on tours

     Buyers at the Calico Ridge Estates custom-home neighborhood receive personalized attention and assistance, according to developer Melvin Bagley.
      "We take each buyer on a tour of our three custom-home neighborhoods, usually in one of our four-wheel drive vehicles," Bagley said. "Although most of the home sites in Two Crows and Calico Hills are located on paved streets and are easily accessible using one of our neighborhood maps, we do have some spectacular home sites in East Hawleywood with views of both Lake Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Strip. Those sites are a little more difficult to reach and often require some guidance the first time they are viewed.
      "After we review the various lots, prices, view potential and other characteristics, we are able to narrow the selection down to one or two lots. At that point, we offer our buyers information they may need regarding financing options, general contractors who have built homes in this area, architectural concerns and basic how-to-get-started information. If they are first-time custom-home builders, a little extra assistance is usually necessary, and we pride ourselves in doing just that."
      There are three custom neighborhoods and more than 400 completed homes. Home sites range from one-quarter acre to more than 2 acres.
      Two Crows lots range from 8,600 to 29,466 square feet, with prices from $56,100 to $111,000.
      East Hawleywood, a gated enclave of eight home sites, offers lots as large as 1 1/3 acres and are priced from $185,000 to more than $400,000.
      Calico Ridge, also a gated neighborhood, has home sites ranging from one-half acre to 2 3/4 acres. Prices range from $120,900 to $395,000.
      "Many of our homeowners have reached a point in their lives when they want to design a home to meet their very specific lifestyle choices," Bagley said. "Building a custom home allows them to do that. We feel it's our job to make that process as easy and stress-free as possible."
      To visit, take Interstate 515 to Lake Mead Drive and head east three miles past Boulder Highway. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
