MoneyWorld manager draws from his past
Larry Harper plans to put his work experience to good use as branch manager for Century 21 MoneyWorld's new office in Summerlin office.
Harper has owned an accounting firm and driven trucks cross-country before taking on his current profession.
"Finance is a big part of real estate and I'm skilled in that area, but more importantly, I'm familiar with the United States, so if a client comes in and says, `I'm from a small town you probably never heard of,' they're usually wrong," he said.
Harper, an eight-year veteran of real estate, said his knowledge of geography helps him establish a rapport with clients.
"It also helps me know what they may be looking for from a real estate standpoint," he said. "In general, Texans, East Coasters or Californians are usually looking for very different things.
"For instance, Californians usually want a formal living room, while people from the Midwest are used to the great room concept," he said. "Knowing the likes and dislikes of people from all over the country is a big advantage for me."
He also expects his communication skills to help him motivate the sales staff at the new branch.
"Recruiting agents is a leading priority. I'm very produc- tion-oriented and plan to make this one of the most successful offices in the valley in a short time," Harper said.
Harper said the company treats its agents as clients.
"We go to great lengths to have programs and systems in place that assist the agents, which in turn benefits buyers and sellers," he said. "And at the Summerlin office, we will have all the bells and whistles working for a larger company provides in a smaller office atmosphere. It's going to be an unbeatable combination."
Mike West, president of Century 21 MoneyWorld, said the new office is the company's third expansion in Las Vegas this year.
"We now have five locations conveniently positioned throughout the valley to serve our clients no matter where they are."
