Solera's location attracts buyers

The opportunity to live closer to family and make new friends with similar interests prompted Rosaura and Hans Hersel to purchase a home in Del Webb's age-qualified Solera at Anthem community in Henderson.

"We love Solera. It's nice and quiet (and) we have great mountain views. Solera's got a small-town atmosphere with great neighbors," Rosaura Hersel said, adding that two of her seven siblings who live in the valley have homes in the builder's nearby Sun City Anthem community.

Solera is a 385-acre community that is planned to comprise 1,750 homes. The builder recently introduced Solera South, a collection of neighborhoods south of the community's planned recreation center.

Five single-story designs are available, ranging from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet. Homes are priced from the low $300,000s to the mid-$410,000s.

"We selected the largest plan, the Franklin model," Rosaura Hersel said.

The design features three bedrooms, two baths, a great room, dining room, kitchen nook, and two-car garage.

All of the homes have features that are often considered upgrades such as two-tone paint, ceramic-tile flooring, ceiling fans, Corian kitchen counter tops, most appliances, upgraded wiring and covered patios.

In addition, they have merited the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label. The homes also feature Environments for Living technology, which includes energy-saving features such as low-e windows and blown-in cellulose insulation. They also offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use and comfort guarantee.

Not only is Rosaura Hersel delighted with her new home, she is pleased the builder helped support one of her favorite charities by donating baskets to help raise funds to increase awareness about diabetes.

Community amenities include tennis and bocce courts. The recreation center, set to begin construction in the fall, will offer a fitness center, swimming pool, billiard tables, as well as rooms for clubs, hobbies, crafts and computers.

Additionally, The Revere at Anthem Golf Club features two championship courses.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to Anthem Parkway, turn left and proceed to Somersworth Drive. The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Del Webb is a subsidiary of Pulte Homes Inc. and a leading builder of communities for those age 55 and older.

It also offers Sun City Anthem in Henderson, and Sun City Aliante in North Las Vegas, as well as the all-ages Club Aliante in North Las Vegas.
