Resident activities: Recreation station

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Of four Del Webb communities under construction in Southern Nevada, three are for people age 55 and older and the other is for buyers of all ages.

Sun City Anthem in Henderson is anchored by the 77,363-square-foot Anthem Center, which is the site of fitness, social and recreational activities for residents of the age-qualified community.

"With over 40 clubs and organizations, we certainly offer something for everyone, whatever one's interest," Brooke Garner, activities assistant, said.

Construction is under way on the second recreation center, a 35,865-square-foot facility that is slated to open by spring 2005.

Home buyers can choose from 12 single-story floor plans, measuring from 1,496 to 3,175 square feet. Prices start from the high $370,000s to the low $660,000s.

To reach the model village, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway and turn left. Proceed to Alexandria Drive and turn right.

Just south of Sun City is Solera at Anthem, a 385-acre development that "provides all of the heart of Sun City Anthem, but on a more intimate, one-on-one scale," Karla Pearson-Call, community association manager, said. "So many friendships have been developed at Solera at Anthem."

Tennis and bocce courts are open, while a 24,000-square-foot recreation center is expected to open next year.

Five single-story home designs are available, ranging from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet. Prices start from the low $300,000s to the mid-$410,000s.

Del Webb has simplified the purchase process at Solera by including many features that may be considered upgrades at other properties.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway and turn left. Drive to Somersworth Drive and turn left.

Sun City Aliante is an age-qualified community located on 326 acres within the Aliante master plan in North Las Vegas. Construction is under way for Sun City's 24,000-square-foot recreation center, which is expected to open in spring 2005.

Meantime, homeowners have "proactively started many groups and clubs, many from their private residences," Janice Neitzert, community association manager, said. "When our recreation center is completed next year, these groups will be ready to continue their activities when the doors open."

Seven floor plans are available, measuring from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet and priced from the mid-$310,000s to the low $450,000s.

To tour the models, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go north.

Also located within Aliante is Club Aliante, Del Webb's newest guard-gated community for people of all ages.

A 5,200-square-foot recreation center is planned to include a swimming pool, spa, tennis courts, a basketball court and playground. It is expected to open by late spring 2005.

Five single- and two-story residential designs are offered, and measure from 2,168 to 3,665 square feet. Prices start from the mid-$500,000s.

Presales are under way for Club Aliante, and models are expected to open by mid-October. The sales center is located next to Sun City Aliante's sales center.

All of Del Webb's new homes are Energy Star certified and constructed with Environments For Living technology, which offers a three-year heating and cooling energy-use and comfort guarantee.

All sales offices are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Del Webb is a subsidiary of Pulte Homes Inc.
