Rolladens' benefits applauded

Kathy and Roy Futa are delighted with the Rolladen rolling shutters they had installed on the front, back and sides of their two-story home.

The shutters are rolling filled-aluminium slats that can be installed over doors, windows and dog doors. They can be operated manually or electrically, and can minimize the effects of heat, wind, cold and dust.

Additionally, the shutters are proven protection against break-ins, according to Fran Minnozzi, who founded the local franchise more than 20 years ago. She also pointed out that the shutters can reduce energy use as much as 64 percent, and can be left closed, open or in the slatted position.

Each residential or commercial property is custom-measured for the shutters, which are manufactured locally.

The company serves clients in Southern Nevada, as well as in Utah and Southern California.

Rolladen's showroom is located at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd., just west of Jones Boulevard, in Las Vegas. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment on Saturday.
