Siena offers golf club packages

Siena, an age-qualified village in southwestern Summerlin, is offering golf membership packages to residents and nonresidents. The packages include a Nevada resident discount card and a limited number of annual individual and corporate mem- berships.
"Siena is a guard-gated community, but its 18-hole championship golf course is open to the public," Alex Isaac, golf marketing director, said.
Siena homeowners are given preferred rates and tee times.
The Mediterranean-themed community's par-72 course will offer 50 individual memberships for $5,000 a year, which includes a $500 food and beverage credit. Membership advantages include complimentary green and cart fees, 14-day advance reservations, discounts on guest fees, unlimited use of the practice facility for the member, charging privileges, and discounts on golf shop merchandise and professional golf lessons.
Only 20 corporate memberships will be sold for $17,500 a year, which includes a $2,500 food and beverage credit and offers many of the same benefits.
Only 400 player cards will be sold to Nevada residents. A $250 annual fee entitles the cardholder to $55 daily green fees and 20 guest passes at that rate, a complimentary cart and practice balls, eight-day advance reservations, one free tournament entry, and discounts on golf shop merchandise and golf lessons from Siena profes- sionals.
Special summer rates for Nevada residents are available through Sept. 7. The rates are $50 Monday through Thursday; $60 Friday through Sunday; and $35 after 11 a.m. daily.
The golf course ranges from 4,941 yards from the front tees to 6,816 yards from the back tees. An 11,800-square-foot clubhouse is planned to include a pro shop and dining facility.
Siena is being developed in the foothills of the Spring Mountains by Sunrise Colony Co. One-third of a planned 1,900 homes will align the fairways.
There are five collections of homes and 14 floor plans. Homes range from 1,200 to 3,100 square feet and are priced from the mid-$150,000s to more than $400,000. All are detached and single-story.
Customizing options include casitas and courtyard fireplaces. Interior designers are available to assist home buyers.
Palm trees line the road that leads to the Tuscan-style entry, which is manned on a 24-hour basis by security guards who also patrol the neighborhoods.
A 40,000-square-foot community center will feature arts and crafts facilities, meeting rooms, a library, grand ballroom and theater with seating for more than 400, card rooms, billiards room, and a computer and business center.
The 15,900-square-foot fitness center is scheduled to open this fall with a cardiovascular and weight room, wellness center, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms, and a 25-meter indoor lap pool. Additional outdoor facilities will include lighted tennis courts, bocce courts, a lap and resort pool, and hiking and biking trails.
Siena is bordered on the north by West Flamingo Road, on the east by Hualapai Way, and on the west by Town Center Drive. The southern boundary is near Russell Road.
To visit, take Sahara Avenue to Town Center Drive and turn south. Proceed past Desert Inn Road and follow the signs. The sale office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
