Buyers favor Lamplight Estates' look
Keith and Mary Russell found a new place to call home at Carina Corp.'s Lamplight Estates at Centennial Springs.
"We had shopped almost everywhere else in Las Vegas, but the deciding factors for us were the tree-lined streets and the traditional neighborhood atmosphere," Mary Russell said. "I'm from upstate New York and this is just like a little touch of home."
The Russells co-manage an auto salvage yard, but their real passion is gourmet cooking.
"This home is perfect for our needs," Russell said. "We love to entertain friends and family, so we selected the optional commercial grade appliances so we can cook in style for our guests."
The size of the home sites also impressed the couple. Lots as large as one-third acre are available.
"The big lot allows us room to install a pool and a full-size barbecue in the back yard, making it `kid friendly' so our grandchildren have plenty to do when they visit," Russell said.
Floor plans range from 2,720 to 5,236 square feet with as many as five bedrooms. Prices start from the $240,000s to the $320,000s.
"Carina's commitment to its home buyers goes far beyond just lumber and stucco," Rick McCarty, general manager of Carina Corp., said recently. "We have a community manager for each of our properties, someone who will work hand in hand with home buyers to make sure they have everything they need; from neighbor relations to starting local interest clubs."
Common amenities include a recreation center with meeting rooms, lighted tennis courts, parks, walking paths, basketball courts, picnic areas and playgrounds.
To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Ann Road, head east to Tenaya Way then north to Farm Road. The sales office and model homes are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 1 p.m.
