Anthem proves top seller

Anthem Country Club has proved popular among home buyers, having recently become the fastest-selling country club in Southern Nevada, according to Home Builders Research Inc.
The guard-gated community, located within the Anthem master plan in Henderson, is designed for people of all ages, according to Robert Shiels, vice president of sales and marketing. Developer Del Webb Corp. reports it sold 225 homes and 22 custom home sites within the community in 1999.
"We are currently in our third year of operations and our community's popularity is based on the unparalleled lifestyle we offer that includes a serene lush environment, uniquely designed homes, tremendous amenities and location affording members spectacular views," Shiels said.
The community is built into the foothills around Black Mountain. It will host a special event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to unveil a new model, the Madrigal, and to release new home sites for the Renaissance Collection.
Amenities at the community include an athletic club, salon, clubhouse, tennis facility and golf course.
The athletic club and salon features workout equipment, tennis courts, a basketball court, swimming pool, sand volleyball court, playground, aerobics classes and personal trainers.
The clubhouse hosts and organizes member activities such as golf tournaments, golf play days, themed dinners and wine tastings. It also houses a meeting room, golf shop, dining room, grill and sports bar, locker rooms and private club rooms. Concierge and valet services are also offered.
The golf course offers various skill levels and views of the mountains and city. Equity and executive golf memberships are available.
Four series of homes are comprised of 19 floor plans.
The Impressionist Collection's floor plans range from 1,275 to 2,177 square feet and are priced from $188,200 to $261,900.
Floor plans range from 1,922 to 4,015 square feet in The Baroque Collection, which has prices starting from $255,400 to $469,000.
Homes in the Romantic Collection range from 2,725 to 5,095 square feet and are priced from $348,100 to $546,300.
The Renaissance Collection, which includes the Madrigal model, has floor plans ranging from 3,104 to 5,797 square feet with prices from $437,700 to $692,400. The new Madrigal features a one- and two-story option.
Custom-home sites for sale overlook the golf course, city or mountains. They range from one-half acre to more than 1 1/2 acres and are priced from $700,000 to $1.2 million.
To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, about two miles past St. Rose Parkway. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
