Pardee builds for energy efficiency at Seven Hills

     Pardee Homes is building energy-efficient homes in the Seven Hills community in Henderson. Such homes are 37 percent more energy efficient than standard homes in the Las Vegas Valley, according to Ray Landry, assistant vice president of sales.
      "We have seen the proof firsthand," Landry said. "The power bills for heating and cooling the energy-efficient models and sales offices in Seven Hills are much lower than they have been at other Pardee model homes of comparable size."
      Homes in the builder's Renaissance, Presidio, Crescendo and Riviera neighborhoods feature the Energy Star seal and the ComfortWise designation, which is endorsed by the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency and Southwest Gas Co.
      All homes include specially treated glass windows that reduce fabric fade, and vinyl-framed windows that reduce noise. Homeowners can also expect lower utility costs.
      The neighborhoods offer single- and two-story homes ranging from 2,149 to 4,600 square feet.
      Prices start from $199,950 to $330,000.
      Standard features include ceramic-tile or wood flooring at entry, oak stair handrails with wood pickets, gas fireplaces, six-panel interior doors, and raised-panel wardrobe doors in secondary bedrooms.
      Kitchens come with ceramic-tile counter tops; oak or white matte cabinets with concealed hinges, adjustable shelves and finished interiors; pantries; preparation islands in some plans; gas cooktops; self-cleaning ovens; and dishwashers.
      Owner suites provide walk-in closets, ceramic-tile counter tops, oak or white matte cabinets and enclosed toilets.
      Additional features include soft-water loops, linen closets, and gas barbecue outlets in rear yards. All homes are prewired for cable TV in all bedrooms, the family room and kitchen.
      To visit the neighborhoods, take St. Rose Parkway to Seven Hills Drive, which is west of Eastern Avenue, and go south. Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.
