Sun City studio touts casual look

Sun City Anthem's design studio allows buyers to decorate their homes in a traditional or other styles.
The latest trend in new-home design at the Del Webb Corp. age-qualified community in Henderson reflects a casual lifestyle, according to Debbie Truso, design studio manager.
"We are seeing a much more West Coast feel in the design of new homes now," Truso said. "Light colored wood cabinetry, such as oak, is huge now. It signifies that our residents are interested in a more casual lifestyle.
"Ceramic and porcelain tile are without a doubt the most popular flooring now, too. In some cases our customers are using them for the entire home. Some of the ceramic tile can even look like natural stone, which is said to create positive energy in the home."
Creating positive energy in the home through placement and use of natural materials has become increasingly popular, Truso said.
"As more and more baby boomers move (in), the homes become more casually decorated, but with all of the modern comforts to which they have become accustomed," she said. "This high-tech generation wants and gets the best of both worlds when they buy a home at Sun City Anthem."
Buyers can also access the developer's full-service landscaping department, and mortgage and title companies that are on-site.
The community offers 15 models, ranging from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet and more through the developer's Gold Key program. Homes are priced from the high $120,000s to more than $500,000.
To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, and follow the signs. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
