Kitchens are central to the single-story designs at The Preserve, a Rhodes Homes neighborhood in the northwestern valley.

"Maybe you can't cook like some of the finest chefs in the world, but our kitchens make you look like a master chef. You wouldn't be able to have a country estate-style home without a ranch-style kitchen," sales agent Sandy Harris said recently.

Plan 3724 offers 3,724 square feet, five bedrooms or four bedrooms plus a den, three baths, living and family rooms, dining room, kitchen nook, and covered front courtyard. The residence is priced from the high $290,000s.

Priced from the mid-$340,000s, Plan 4068 comes with six bedrooms or five bedrooms plus a den, three baths, living and family rooms, dining room, kitchen nook, and covered courtyard entry.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, head east to Frontage Road and turn north. Turn right on Elkhorn Road, then go left on Buffalo Drive.
