Developer extols Palisades at MacDonald Highlands

One of the most popular custom-lot neighborhoods to date at MacDonald Highlands in Henderson is Palisades, according to Rich MacDonald, president of the MacDonald Cos.

"Palisades, with its varying topography, offers a variety of choices for our luxury buyers," MacDonald said. "Palisades I and II provide for larger hillside lots that are perfect for terracing a multilevel home and offer panoramic views of the Las Vegas skyline and our golf course below. Palisades III will accommodate our buyers who prefer the flatlands of our private DragonRidge Country Club."

Available lots measure from about one-half acre to 2 1/2 acres and are priced from $276,000. For a limited time, Palisades III will include a full golf membership to the country club.

MacDonald said interest in the neighborhood has grown along with interest in Dragon Ridge, which incorporates the slopes and arroyos of the surrounding mountains into its Jay Morrish and David Druzisky design.

Upon completion, the community will feature 17 neighborhoods spread over 1,200 acres.

Eight custom-home neighborhoods are under development with home sites that provide city, mountain and golf course views and are priced from $179,000 to more than $3.5 million.

Construction is expected to start soon on the DragonRidge clubhouse, which will feature a golf shop, exercise facility, swimming pool, upscale dining room, and a separate mixed grill and lounge. A temporary clubhouse is open and tee times are available.

Plans for the community also include linear parks, as well as three community parks that will encompass about 10 acres with tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; play areas; and picnic facilities. Five miles of fitness trails are also planned.
