Realty agents to call The Ridges home

In less than three months, half of the 22 custom-home sites available at Rimrock in The Ridges have sold, according to Roger Pettiford, sales and marketing manager for custom-home sites in Summerlin.

Among the most recent buyers are Kenny and Collette Diamond, who closed on their home site last week.

"Rimrock is truly our dream location. This will be the home where we raise our three children. I can't think of a better place to call home," Collette Diamond said.

"Our home is completely designed with our family in mind. It will have the elegance of a custom home with the functionality and family-oriented features that will make it a comfortable place to raise a family."

Groundbreaking is scheduled in October.

The couple are realty agents and the majority of their sales are in the master-planned community, including a few sites in The Ridges.

"Like many of Summerlin's residents, we appreciate the community's amenities and prefer to stay here," Diamond said. "Rimrock will be our third Summerlin home. We just keep moving to new neighborhoods along with thousands of other residents who want to stay in the community."

The custom neighborhood is one of three located in The Ridges. Its home sites range from one-half acre to more than an acre and are priced from the high $500,000s.

The other neighborhoods are Promontory and Arrowhead, where lots are priced to more than $1 million. Predesigned custom homes start at about $2.1 million.

The village is centered around the Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear's Best Las Vegas golf course. Access is provided by a guard-gated, landscaped parkway. Club Ridges, a private fitness center, and a 3-acre community park are planned.

It features a desert-contemporary theme, horizontal architectural design and desert landscaping.

Summerlin has been ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community 10 of the past 11 years, according to independent surveys.

To visit the custom-lot sales center, travel west on Desert Inn Road until it ends in The Ridges and turn left. The building is on the right. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment.
