Movie Madness to revisit AlianteSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
The city of North Las Vegas Movie Madness Series continues next Friday at Aliante with an outdoor presentation of "The Land Before Time." The public is invited to the free event scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. in Nature Discovery Park. "The prehistoric-themed play areas of Nature Discovery Park will complement the experience of seeing a film like this, especially for young children," Kimiko Peterson, community marketing manager, said. Originally released in 1988, "The Land Before Time" is the story of an orphaned dinosaur who sets off in search of the legendary Great Valley, a land where dinosaurs can thrive and live in peace. Along the way he meets other young dinosaurs, and they encounter several obstacles as they learn to work together in order to survive. Movie-goers are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs. Hot dogs, popcorn and beverages will be distributed free-of-charge, while supplies last. "We anticipate a great turnout, which will give families an opportunity to come out, watch a movie under the stars, and enjoy all of the wonderful recreational amenities of Nature Discovery Park," Peterson said. Aliante is 1,905-acre master-planned community with all-ages and age-qualified residential villages. Combined, the villages will comprise as many as 7,500 homes. Builders in the all-ages village are Astoria Homes, Del Webb Corp., D.R. Horton, KB Home, Meritage Homes, Pardee Homes, Pulte Homes and US Home. Del Webb also is developing the age-qualified Sun City Aliante. Homes are priced from the low $200,000s to the $700,000s. Nearly one-fourth of the acreage has been allocated for recreational and public uses including parks, more than 20 miles of trails, an arroyo, schools, and about 100 acres of commercial development, which is planned to include shopping centers, restaurants and office parks. A 40-acre resort with gaming is planned adjacent to Interstate 215. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go south. The information gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. North Valley Enterprises, the developer, is an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp.
