Couple enjoy Summerlin life

When Damian Barton moved to Las Vegas, he started to search for the perfect home and community for his wife, Christi, and their two dogs.

"When I arrived in Summerlin, I had a good feeling. I knew the first house I looked at was going to be our home. I called Christi and told her I had found our house and made an offer that very day," he said.

Christi Barton did not see the house until they moved in a few weeks later.

"I was nervous about it, but as soon as I drove through the community and saw the house, I knew we made the right decision," she said.

The Bartons have lived in their home, located in The Willows village, since February.

"We still believe it is the perfect home for us. We're not going anywhere else," Damian Barton said.

The couple said they enjoy the community's various events and amenities, especially the parks and walking trails, where they take their two Shiba Inu dogs daily.

"We enjoy being outdoors, so we really appreciate the tree-lined streets and landscaping in Summerlin," Christi Barton said.

The Bartons said they also appreciate their three-mile commute to work. Both are employed by a company that specializes in corporate structuring, estate planning and asset protection.

Developed by The Howard Hughes Corp., Summerlin ranked as the country's best-selling master-planned community for much of the last decade, according to independent surveys. Located along the valley's western rim, it is home to parks, trails, houses of worship, retail and business centers, medical facilities and cultural facilities.

Nearly 120 models showcase the available single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums, which are priced from the mid-$300,000s. Custom-home sites are priced from the $500,000s.

Monthly rent for apartments start in the mid-$800s.
